A wooden Madonna statue belongs in many homes in the devotional corner or on the home altar. Our hand-carved statues of the Virgin Mary are made in Val Gardena in South Tyrol; each is one of a kind, with its own grain and painting.
Statues of the Virgin Mary for the home, chapel and garden
Mary is depicted in art in many ways: as a mother with the Child, as an intercessor or as a miraculous image. For each motif you can choose from the heights and finishes available. Small statues of approx. 12 to 20 cm suit a shelf or chest of drawers, while larger pieces become a focal point in a room or chapel.
Occasions
Madonna statues are often given for Mother's Day, a christening, a wedding, a name day or as a memento of a pilgrimage. In May, the month of Mary, and around the Marian feasts on 15 August and 8 December, demand is especially high.
The finishes
- Natural: the light wood stays visible, with its grain and fine carved texture.
- Stained: gently tinted, with the grain showing through (multicolour stained: with several tones).
- Colour: hand-painted.
- Genuine gold: finished with gold leaf, also available as antique genuine gold with a patina.
The available finishes and heights can be selected on each statue. Common heights range from approx. 12 cm for the home altar to approx. 100 cm for a church or chapel.
