The praying Madonna with rosary shows Mary in quiet devotion. She recalls the prayer of the rosary, in which the faithful contemplate the life of Jesus with Mary.

Motif & meaning
The praying Madonna with rosary stands as an image of trust, humility and inner recollection. In her quiet posture she recalls Mary's deep prayer, which gives comfort and hope. The rosary she holds in her hands points to continual prayer and to the Marian tradition that has given people strength in faith for centuries.
This depiction invites reflection – whether in a private living space, in a small chapel or as a gift for First Holy Communion or Confirmation. It conveys a sense of peace and protection that moves us beyond the religious context.
The graceful composition with inclined head and softly flowing drapery impressively expresses the inner attitude of the Mother of God: quiet devotion, trust and intercession. The Madonna thus becomes a timeless companion for all who would like to bring faith, calm and warmth into their home.
Finish, origin & special features
Every praying Madonna with rosary is made with careful handwork in the Gardena Valley in South Tyrol – a region known for centuries for its outstanding woodcarving. The selected lime wood is gently dried, cut and then carved entirely by hand in several steps. The precise working of the facial features and the fine folds produces a figure of great expressiveness and calm.
Depending on the character you want, different finishes are available:
– natural – finely sanded, emphasises grain and clarity of form
– coloured – lovingly hand-painted, with soft colour transitions and discreet gold accents
The coloured variant uses traditional oil paints and in part genuine gold leaf, applied using the classic gilder's technique. Every figure is given a protective lacquer that preserves the surface permanently.
The final quality inspection is done by hand before each Madonna is carefully packed. Depending on the series, the figure may bear the Val Gardena quality seal, which stands for authentic woodcarving from South Tyrol.
This combination of traditional craftsmanship, natural materials and spiritual symbolism makes each Madonna a unique work of art that unites faith and craft in perfected form.
