Blessed Items – How We Bless

Atmospheric image

Many of our items are blessed. On this page we explain, unhurriedly, what a blessing means and how we put it into practice at LUNEXUS.

What does the blessing of objects mean?

In the Catholic tradition a blessing (benediction) is a praise of God and at the same time a request for his blessing. People, places and also objects are blessed – such as crosses, pendants or pictures. It usually takes place with prayer and the sign of the cross and is given by a priest or deacon.

A blessed object is not a magic charm and carries no promise of protection. It is meant to remind you of your faith and to accompany you in everyday life as a sign of blessing.

How we bless at LUNEXUS

  • A Catholic priest from the Diocese of Fulda blesses many of our items in our own warehouse.
  • Every blessed item comes with a business-card-sized certificate card showing the date of the blessing.
  • Many, but not all, items are blessed. You can see whether a product is blessed in the product description and in the Blessed items collection.

And the wooden statues from the woodcarving workshop?

The hand-carved wooden statues from our woodcarving workshop in South Tyrol are shipped to you directly from the workshop. They are not blessed in our warehouse and therefore do not come with a certificate card from us. If you would like a statue blessed, simply ask your parish or your parish priest.

Discover blessed items

Here you will find a selection: all blessed items, as well as crosses, jewellery & necklaces and keyrings. As gifts they suit, for example, First Holy Communion and christening.

Frequently asked questions about the blessing

Is the blessing genuine?

Yes. The blessing is carried out by a Catholic priest in our warehouse. The date is shown on the enclosed certificate card.

Can I request a particular blessing date?

Unfortunately we cannot promise you a particular date. The blessings take place at intervals, and the date on the card is the actual date on which your item was blessed. If a date is important to you, write to us – we will tell you honestly what is possible.

Are all items blessed?

No, only many. An item is only blessed if its product details say so.

Can I also have an item blessed in my own parish?

Of course. Simply ask your parish or your parish priest.

You will find more answers in the frequently asked questions. You can reach us personally on +49 30 2178 2502 (German and English) or at hallo@lunexus.world.
