Benedict of Nursia is the patron saint of Europe and the father of Western monasticism. Here you will find keyrings with the St Benedict medal in enamel, gold and metal, two car medals, a crucifix cross necklace and a wooden cross pendant with the St Benedict medal.

The medals are blessed where the title says so; a certificate card with the date is then enclosed. Prices range between €14.90 and €19.90. This gives you an old sign of Christian devotion as a gift or for yourself.

Who was Benedict of Nursia?

Benedict lived in the 5th and 6th centuries and founded monasteries, among them Montecassino. His Rule still shapes the life of many communities today. His feast day is 11 July. In 1964 Pope Paul VI declared him patron saint of Europe.

The St Benedict medal

The St Benedict medal traditionally shows the saint with a cross and the book of the Rule; on the other side there are letters around a cross, the initials of Latin prayer words. It is regarded as one of the oldest signs of Christian devotion. As a gift it is a quiet symbol for people who value tradition.

What you will find here

The keyrings come in 8 cm (€14.90) and 9 cm in enamel and gold (€19.90). The car medals (Ø 3 cm, €15.90) have a magnet according to the title, and one has a gold edge. If you are looking for something to wear, you will find the crucifix cross necklace (€14.90) or the wooden cross pendant with leather cord (€16.90). The Keyrings collection shows more keyrings, and you will find further saints under Patron saints.

Giving St Benedict as a gift

The St Benedict medal is a gift for people who value tradition: for friends of monastic spirituality, for drivers (as a car medal), for your own bunch of keys. If you are interested in the saint's life, you will find no books in our selection, but medals with ancient imagery. The items are a sign of blessing, not a promise of protection.
