Geschenke zur Taufe

Christening marks the beginning of a path of faith, and a christening gift should be a reminder of that. Here you will find guardian angel pictures for the nursery, wooden crosses, olive wood necklaces and pendants from Bethlehem, and candle cloths for the christening and Communion candle.

A Catholic priest blesses many items in our warehouse, and a certificate card showing the date is included. More than half of the items cost up to €15, and prices start at €5.90.

• Crosses: wooden wall crosses and standing crosses that a child keeps for life. More under Crosses.
• Olive wood necklaces and pendants: delicate pieces from Bethlehem that parents or godparents keep for the child. More under Olive wood from Bethlehem.

Gifts from godparents and parents

The godparents' christening gift is often something lasting: a cross, a guardian angel or a pendant, with a few handwritten lines. Parents like to choose something that grows with the child. A guardian angel picture costs about €18 to €30, a pendant or small necklace €9.90 (as of October 2026). You can tuck the certificate card of the blessing into the christening book.

Blessed, and done properly

A Catholic priest blesses many of our items in our warehouse; a certificate card showing the date of the blessing is included. A blessed item is a sign of blessing, not a promise of protection. We describe how the blessing works with us in the article How does a blessing work?.

Other occasions

Christening day and keepsakes

A child usually receives several gifts at a christening. A cross or guardian angel picture is never “too much”: it has its place in the nursery and grows older with the child. The olive wood necklaces are more for parents and godparents, who keep them until the child is older, and the candle cloths go with the christening candle. The certificate card of the blessing shows a date that you can record in the family book together with the christening day.
