The four symbols on this candle plate tell of faith and stations in life. In the Christian tradition the dove stands for the Holy Spirit, the chalice for the Eucharist and Communion, the fish is an ancient sign of recognition among Christians, and the rings recall a wedding. As golden tiles with filigree gold-wire symbols they are worked into the white, satin-finish glass and catch the light of the candle. The plate thus becomes the quiet centrepiece of a festive table, whether for a christening, Communion, Confirmation or wedding.
The candle plate is made of white glass, measures 14 × 14 cm and weighs about 220 g. In the centre is a round hollow that holds candles up to Ø 7 cm securely and catches wax drips. The four golden symbols are worked into the glass, not stuck on; according to the manufacturer, the gold colour contains 22% gold. The plate suits a Communion, christening or wedding candle and afterwards remains on the sideboard or windowsill as a quiet keepsake.
