First Holy Communion is a day a child will not forget. A good gift can recall it: quiet, beautiful and lasting long after the celebration. Here you will find cross necklaces and cross pendants in olive wood, handcrafted in Bethlehem, wall crosses and standing crosses for the child's bedroom, guardian angel pictures and small companions for everyday life.

Many items are blessed: a Catholic priest blesses the goods in our warehouse, and a certificate showing the date is included. Are you looking for godparents, grandparents or the whole Communion group? Then take a look at the ideas by budget below the product grid. For parishes, schools and groups there is a quantity discount on the total quantity of your order: 10% from 10 items, 15% from 25, 20% from 50 – quote on request on +49 30 2178 2502 (German and English) or at hallo@lunexus.world (More about the quantity discount).

First Holy Communion gift ideas: your overview

A Communion gift does not have to be big or expensive. It should suit the child and recall the day. The following selection comes from our current range. Prices may change; the product page is always the authority.

Gift ideas under €20

Small gifts are ideal for guests, neighbours, aunts and uncles, and they are often the ones children wear or hold most.

More necklaces and pendants: Jewellery & necklaces.

Gift ideas from €20 to €50

This is where the gifts from godparents and grandparents belong, often the “first cross of their own” for the child's bedroom.

Gift ideas from €50

A Communion gift does not have to be expensive, but it may also be something special. One special piece is the glass cross 27 × 12 cm, red and transparent (€59.90, blessed, only a few available). Hand-carved wooden statues from our woodcarving workshop in South Tyrol also make a good godparent's gift, for example the Renaissance Madonna with Child or a guardian angel statue. Every statue is one of a kind and arrives insured directly from the workshop: delivery time is approx. 3–4 weeks (Germany and Austria only, €6.90), so order in good time before the celebration. The 14-day statutory right of withdrawal applies to statues; they are not blessed in our warehouse, but you can have them blessed in your parish. If you prefer to combine: a cross for the room, a necklace to wear and a guardian angel picture. That makes a gift set that feels more personal than a single expensive item. A handwritten card goes well with it.

Rosary for Communion

The rosary is a classic Communion gift that can last a lifetime. Here you will find blessed rosaries in wood, glass and haematite for €29.90, each with a certificate card showing the date of the blessing.

For boys and girls

We do not make a strict distinction, because a cross is for everyone. As a guide: girls are often delighted by delicate necklaces such as the heart-and-cross necklace or the angel pendant. Boys often go for the tau cross (€11.90), the holding cross or the beech wood standing cross. In the end, what counts is what the child likes: ask the parents what they already have. More in the guide What do you give for Communion? 25 ideas.

From godparents and grandparents

Godmothers, godfathers and grandparents usually give something that lasts: a cross for the room, a blessed necklace or a guardian angel picture. A Bible verse or a few personal lines make it truly their own. Our tips for this: Communion gifts from godparents.

What does First Holy Communion mean?

At First Holy Communion, a Catholic child receives Communion, that is the Eucharist, for the first time. This usually happens at around the age of nine, mostly in the third year of primary school, after several months of preparation in the parish. Many parishes celebrate on White Sunday, the Sunday after Easter, or in the weeks after. Each parish sets the exact date itself. You will find an overview for parents here: First Holy Communion 2027: dates, order of service, checklist.

Group gifts and parish bulk orders

If the whole Communion group is to receive the same gift: for parishes, schools and groups there is a quantity discount on the total quantity of your order: 10% from 10 items, 15% from 25, 20% from 50 – quote on request on +49 30 2178 2502 (German and English) or at hallo@lunexus.world (More about the quantity discount). Parishes can also order on invoice with 15-day payment terms. Popular for groups are the cross pendants and necklaces from €9.90, combined with the velvet pouch set with cross (10 pieces, €12.90) as packaging. Plan quantities and date early and check stock levels before ordering. All the details, checklist and timetable: Communion group orders and For parishes & groups.

Blessing: what “blessed” means with us

Many items carry the note “blessed”. This means: a Catholic priest blesses many of these items in our warehouse, and a certificate showing the date is included. The blessing is a sign, not a promise of salvation. Of course you can also have a gift blessed in your parish. More on this under Blessed items.

Shipping and returns

Shipped via Amazon's logistics network – free within Germany, €5.90 to Austria and France; Italy €6.90, Spain €6.90. Items from our warehouse can be returned within 30 days. The exception is the wooden statues from the woodcarving workshop: they arrive insured directly from South Tyrol (€6.90, Germany and Austria only, delivery time approx. 3–4 weeks), and the 14-day statutory right of withdrawal applies.

How old are the children at First Holy Communion?
Usually about nine years old, in the third year of primary school. This can vary a little from parish to parish.

Each parish decides this. White Sunday and the weeks up to about May or June are usual. Ask your parish or the parish office for the exact date.
