A cross with a tealight that can burn in its base joins two ancient signs of devotion: the cross and the light. The flicker of the small flame turns a place on a shelf into a place of reflection, whether in the prayer corner, the living room or at the desk. The design of two cross pieces laid one over the other looks contemporary and yet stays true to the traditional form. As a gift for a christening, Communion, Confirmation or a wedding, it offers a place to pause – and in hard times a quiet sign of encouragement.
Beech is a firm hardwood with a fine, even structure. This cross is handmade in Germany from regional beech. The surface is finely sanded and shows the natural structure of the wood, which makes each piece look slightly different. The two cross pieces are made to fit precisely and are slotted into the round, solid base – so the cross stands securely, and you can take it apart again for storage or transport. The hollow in the base takes a standard tealight.
