St Christopher is the patron saint of travellers, drivers and pilgrims. Here you will find St Christopher car medals with a magnet, keyrings in many variations and a medal in 925 sterling silver. Many carry a German inscription such as “Gute Fahrt” (“safe journey”) or “Komm gut heim” (“come home safely”).

Most items are blessed: a Catholic priest blesses them in our warehouse, and a certificate card showing the date is included. Prices from €14.90.

Who was St Christopher?

We know of Christopher mainly from legend: his name means “Christ-bearer”. He is said to have carried a child safely across a river, a child who grew heavier with every step and revealed himself as Christ. That is why he is regarded as the patron saint of travellers, and why he is often shown with a child on his shoulder. You can read more in the article St Christopher: why he watches over travellers and pilgrims. Today he accompanies people in the car, on the motorbike, on the bicycle and on pilgrim routes. He is a sign of blessing, not a promise of protection.

St Christopher car medal

There are over 25 medals to choose from: round (Ø 2.3 to 3.6 cm), octagonal, oval, square or cross-shaped, with a gold edge, a red or blue edge, a faceted edge or an antique finish. Most have a magnet on the back. You place them on a magnetic surface and can take them off again whenever you like. You will find more about shapes and fitting under Car medals & magnets.

St Christopher keyrings

The keyrings are about 8 to 10 cm long and mostly cost €14.90 or €15.90. They come in silver, antique silver, blue and violet, in olive wood and metal, and with the double motif of St Christopher and a guardian angel. The inscriptions “Komm gut heim” and “Gute Fahrt” are especially popular. You will find all the models under Keyrings.

As a gift

St Christopher is the classic gift for passing the driving test, a first car, a pilgrimage or the birthday of someone who is always on the road. You will find a selection for new drivers under Gifts for passing the driving test. The silver medal (925 sterling silver, €79.90, as of October 2026) is the finest piece in the collection.

St Christopher in everyday life

Many people keep their St Christopher in the car, on their key ring or in their rucksack. A medal in the car is a reminder, every time you get in, of the wish to arrive safely. A pendant on the key comes along on every journey, on the bicycle or motorbike too. For people who often go on pilgrimage, he is a companion on the way. If you are looking for a gift for someone who already has a St Christopher, choose a different shape or colour: the selection is large enough that no piece needs to be repeated.
