St Christopher is regarded as the patron saint of travellers and is often depicted with the Child Jesus on his shoulder – an image for safe roads and returning home. On this pendant the engraving “Gute Fahrt” (“safe journey”) is joined by the wish of blessing “Gott schütze Dich” (“God protect you”) on the back. In this way the pendant combines an everyday travel wish with a personal prayer. It suits people who like to carry a small sign of their faith with them in everyday life, and it is a fitting gift for new drivers, commuters and families setting off on holiday.
The keyring is made in France from sturdy metal. The antique-silver patina gives the surface a calm, classic character and is resistant to light scratches. The relief and lettering are clearly worked and easy to read. With a total length of 9 cm and a medal 3 cm in diameter, it is handy; a solid chain and key ring ensure a secure hold. Before dispatch it is blessed by a Catholic priest, and the certificate showing the date of the blessing is enclosed. The black velvet pouch makes extra wrapping paper unnecessary.
