Description & details

On this St Christopher medal, a gold-coloured faceted edge frames the silver-coloured relief. At Ø 2.6 cm it stays discreet, and it comes from France. The picture shows the saint with the Child Jesus.

St Christopher is one of the saints about whom little is known for certain. He is said to have died in Lycia, in present-day Turkey, but he was venerated early on. That may explain why his figure appeals to so many people: it lives from the image, not from dates.
