Description & details

Small but richly detailed: on just 2.3 cm in diameter, this medal depicts St Christopher with the Child Jesus, together with the wish “Gute Fahrt” (“safe journey”). The silver-coloured relief was made in France.

St Christopher is the patron saint of boatmen and ferrymen and, since cars have existed, of motorists too. From the river to the road: that explains why his medal is such a familiar sight in the car. You can read more about his patronages in thesaints' encyclopaedia.

  • Surface: silver-coloured, richly detailed relief
  • Fastening: magnetic or with adhesive strip
