Description & details

Slender, with a slightly inclined head, the Child resting calmly in her arms: the Madonna “Mother and Child in Art Nouveau Style” is a modern figure of Mary, hand-carved in Val Gardena. The long, finely grooved robe in a dark tone draws the eye to the face.

The figure is a workshop model; we describe its form without interpreting it. As a Christian motif, Mary with the Child stands for the Mother of Jesus and for security in faith.
