Madonna “Mother Desiree” – Hand-Carved Wooden Statue from South Tyrol

Slender, calm and without much ornament: the Madonna “Mother Desiree” is a figure of Mary with Child, carved in wood. Mary wears a long veil and holds the Child Jesus in her arm; the lines are smooth and restrained. The form suits modern rooms as well as a chapel or home altar.

The name “Desiree” is a model name used by the workshop and has no ecclesiastical tradition. What the figure shows is the basic message of many Madonnas: Mary as the Mother of Jesus, holding her Son out to people. There are four finishes, from plain to gilded.

• Finishes: Natural: the wood remains visible, sanded and untreated; multicolour stained; hand-painted: painted with oil colours, with gold leaf and silver leaf details, lacquer-fixed; genuine gold leaf

After approx. 4–5 weeks the Madonna Desiree is with you. The Madonna Desiree is shipped insured via UPS from our warehouse in Flieden to all delivery countries, at a cost of €6.90. Every piece is blessed by a Catholic priest in our warehouse in Flieden and comes with a certificate card showing the date of the blessing.
