Madonna “Mother of Grace” – Hand-Carved Wooden Statue from South Tyrol

The Madonna “Mother of Grace” is a wooden figure of Mary: she stands upright, her veil over her head, her hands slightly open in front of her as if to welcome someone. A calm figure for the home chapel, the Marian corner or the bedside table of someone close to Mary in prayer.

“Mother of Grace” is a title of Mary; the list of Marian titles also includes the form “Mother of Divine Grace”. The title is a reminder that in popular devotion Mary, as the mother of Jesus, is invoked as an intercessor. The statue gives this thought a calm, open form.
