With slightly opened arms and hands turned forward, the Madonna “Gnadenspenderin” (Dispenser of Grace) stands in a blue cloak on a round base. The figure was hand-carved and painted in Val Gardena, after Karl Demetz.
The name recalls the invocation of Mary as mediatrix of graces, which appears, for example, in the antiphon Sub tuum praesidium. What is meant is the hope that Mary intercedes for us with God. The posture of the open hands invites you to turn to her in prayer.
