With no border and no flourishes: this St Christopher medal relies on a purist silver-coloured relief, 3 cm in diameter. The saint carries the Child Jesus, and nothing more is needed here.
Why St Christopher sits on a medal in the car at all remains understandable even after the calendar reform of 1969: at that time his feast was removed from the General Roman Calendar because historical evidence is lacking. Veneration continued. The Roman Martyrology still lists him, and many of the faithful still celebrate his day.
