This wooden statue of St Andrew shows the apostle barefoot, his arm resting on a cross beam. It is hand-carved in Val Gardena, a piece for church, home altar or gift table.
Andrew was the brother of Simon Peter and, like him, a fisherman and one of the first disciples of Jesus. According to tradition he died around the year 60 in Patras on a diagonal cross. He is patron saint of Russia, Scotland, Romania and Greece, as well as of fishermen and miners. His feast day is 30 November; the diagonal St Andrew’s cross has been known as his attribute since the 14th or 15th century.
- Sizes: Andrew is available in 12, 20, 30, 40, 60 and 80 cm

On St Andrew’s Day, 30 November, the statue can be given as a name-day gift, especially to an Andrew. Made by hand in Val Gardena, the Andrew statue is never quite like any other piece, because the wood and painting differ.
