The wooden Nicodemus statue shows a bearded man in a red robe with a golden hem, a chalice in one hand, a book in the other, and a bouquet of white blossoms. It is a gift for everyone who bears this name or is looking for a statue of biblical figures.
The name usually refers to Nicodemus, the Pharisee and councillor of John’s Gospel, who visited Jesus by night (John 3:1–21) and helped with the burial (John 19:39–40). His feast day is generally given as 31 August. The chalice is part of the design of this statue; it is not regarded as a biblical attribute of Nicodemus, and there are other saints of the same name.
- Heights: 20 cm, 30 cm, 40 cm, 60 cm
- Finishes: Natural (untreated, with a fine sanding); Hand-painted (with oil colours, with gold leaf and silver leaf details)
