Description & details

With folded hands, lowered gaze and a veil over her hair, this praying Madonna stands before you. She is hand-carved in Val Gardena, available in two large heights and intended for churches, chapels and large rooms.

The motif of the praying Mary shows the Mother of Jesus not enthroned but at prayer, turned towards God. The figure is a type of depiction, not a particular venerated image; we therefore do not interpret it further.

  • Heights: 75 cm, 107 cm
  • Finishes: Hand-painted (with oil colours, gold leaf and silver leaf details, fixed with lacquer), genuine gold leaf (gilded with real gold leaf and then painted) or antique genuine gold leaf (fine craquelure surface, looks like an old original)
  • Wood: wood from the Gardena Valley – mainly lime wood, depending on size also maple or Swiss stone pine

At this height one thinks of churches, parish halls or monastery gardens. Parishes and donors are welcome to get in touch if they are looking for a Madonna for a Marian altar; a quote is available on request.

With the genuine gold leaf finishes, every piece looks different depending on how the light falls – one of a kind in any case. Approx. 4–5 weeks later the Madonna is with you, insured via UPS from our warehouse in Flieden, to all delivery countries, €6.90. Every piece is blessed by a Catholic priest in our warehouse in Flieden and comes with a certificate card showing the date of the blessing.
