Sometimes nothing more is needed than a cross in its simplest form. This small wall cross does without corpus, ornament and colour and draws the eye to what matters. That makes it a sign that fits into any surroundings: the nursery, above the bed, beside the front door or in a quiet corner for prayer. As a gift for a christening or Communion, it can be a lasting keepsake for godparents, grandparents or parents that accompanies the recipient for years.
Oak is hard, long-lasting and known for its expressive grain. This cross is made of oak from Germany and crafted by hand. It remains untreated, so pores, grain and the small structural features of the wood stay visible. No two pieces are alike, although shape and size are identical. The hanging hole is worked firmly into the cross; there are no loose parts and no visible bracket on the front. Intended for indoor use – so the wood keeps its natural surface for a long time.
