St Benedict of Nursia is regarded as the father of Western monasticism. The St Benedict cross with its Latin letters is still a familiar sign of faith that many people carry with them. On this rosary it appears as an enamelled cross with the figure of Christ, and the round medal on the connecting piece bears the image of the saint with a Latin inscription. The dark brown wooden beads invite quiet prayer, whether at the bedside, in church or on the move. As a gift for a christening, First Holy Communion, Confirmation or Christmas, it is a personal companion.
The rosary consists of 59 oval wooden beads in dark brown, set on a silver-coloured link chain. The enamelled St Benedict cross measures 2 × 4 cm, and the beads are smooth and glossy. According to the product information, the rosary is handmade in Poland. Before shipping it is blessed by a Catholic priest, and a business-card-sized certificate showing the date of the blessing is enclosed. A velvet pouch protects it in storage and also serves as gift packaging.
