The rosary accompanies many people in daily prayer. This one carries a St Benedict medal as its centrepiece and ends in the St Benedict crucifix with a black enamel inlay and a silver-coloured figure of Christ. St Benedict is known as the patron of the Christian West, and his cross is a widespread sign of faith. With 59 beads, the rosary is suited to praying the five decades, to holding in the hand or to wearing as a necklace. As a gift for a christening, First Holy Communion, Confirmation or Protestant confirmation, it is a quiet companion for prayer and reflection.
The 59 beads are made of polished hematite, a natural stone with a dark grey, metallic lustre, and are strung on a silver-coloured link chain. The crucifix and medal are worked in metal, and the total length is about 50 cm. Before shipping, a Catholic priest blesses the rosary in the LUNEXUS warehouse, and a certificate of blessing in business-card size showing the date of the blessing is enclosed. In its velvet pouch it is ready to give straight away, for instance for a First Holy Communion celebration or for Confirmation.
