Description & details

Small, round and unobtrusive: this St Benedict medal for the car measures just 3 cm in diameter and fits on any dashboard. Its silver-coloured relief shows St Benedict with a cross and a book.

Benedict of Nursia wrote a moderate Rule for his monks for life in community with prayer and work. The motto “Ora et labora” later summed up this attitude, but does not appear word for word in the Rule. Since 1964 he has been patron saint of Europe, and the Church celebrates his feast day on 11 July. TheLexicon of saints entry on Benedict.
