In this wooden statue Cassian stands as a bishop with mitre and raised staff, a book in his hand and a writing implement. He suits schools, parish offices and South Tyrolean parlours (Stuben).
St Cassian of Imola taught shorthand in Imola and around 304, under Emperor Diocletian, was martyred by his pupils with styluses; his remains rest in the cathedral of Imola. His feast day is 13 August. He is regarded as patron of Imola, of teachers, educators and stenographers, and of the Diocese of Bolzano-Brixen. According to legend he was the first Bishop of Säben in South Tyrol – which is why he wears episcopal vestments.
- Sizes: from 12 to 100 cm: 12, 20, 30, 40, 60, 80, 100

For the name day on 13 August, the start of school or a teacher’s farewell, the statue is a sensible gift. Anyone rooted in Brixen or South Tyrol has in Cassian a local connection.
