Description & details

This small olive wood cross pendant is made for wearing: at approx. 2.0 × 1.0 cm it stays discreet and sits lightly on the black cord. The cross is made in an openwork design with a cut-out centre and sanded smooth.

The cross is the basic sign of the Christian faith and recalls the death and resurrection of Jesus. Its wood comes from Bethlehem, the birthplace of Jesus, where the olive tree belongs to the biblical landscape and olive wood is traditionally made into devotional items.

The cross makes a quiet gift for a christening, First Holy Communion, Confirmation or (Protestant) Confirmation, as well as thanks after recovering from an illness or a companion in personal prayer. A dry, soft cloth is all the care it needs; grain and colour differ from piece to piece.

A Catholic priest blesses the pendant in our own warehouse, and the certificate card with the date is ready in the velvet pouch.
