Description & details

Here Christ hangs as a plain wooden figure on a dark, irregularly shaped stone slab. The arms are raised, the body is worked without detail, and the untreated figure stands out light against the background. It is a crucifix without a classical cross.

The name “Modern Christ on Stone Slab” designates a modern workshop model. The interplay of light wood and dark slab gives the depiction calm and weight at the same time. For believers, Christ on the cross stands for self-giving and redemption.

  • Sizes: 15 cm, 30 cm
  • Finish: natural (finely sanded, untreated wood)
  • Material of the figure: mainly lime wood, depending on size also maple or Swiss stone pine

On a light wall the dark slab stands out; in an entrance area or above a desk, it invites you to pause. For an anniversary or as a gift to a deacon, this unusual piece is an alternative to the usual crucifix.

The figure is hand-carved in Val Gardena, and each piece is one of a kind. You wait approx. 3–4 weeks for delivery. Transport from South Tyrol is insured, goes to Germany and Austria only and costs €6.90.
