Description & details

Three crosses side by side, Christ in the middle, a fellow condemned man on the right and left, and in front two figures on a rocky base: this is how this crucifixion group shows the Passion. The figures are hand-carved in Val Gardena and stand together on a curved base.

The crucifixion group depicts the Crucifixion with figures at the cross, usually Mary and the Apostle John. In the extended form, the two thieves crucified with Jesus are added. This completes the scene as the Gospels describe it. With multicolour stained and hand-painted, you have two finishes to choose from.

  • Heights: 12, 20 and 30 cm
  • Finishes: Multicolour stained – three stain tones with wax, depending on the motif with gold or silver accents on details and hems of garments; hand-painted – oil colours, gold leaf and silver leaf details, fixed with lacquer
  • Wood: wood from the Gardena Valley – mainly lime wood, depending on size also maple or Swiss stone pine
