Giner Crucifix with Rosette Beams – Wooden Cross from South Tyrol

In the Giner Crucifix with Rosette Beams, the carved Christ hangs on a cross with ornamented beam ends. The figure is carved by hand in Val Gardena and is intended for a chapel, parish hall or a place of honour in the living space.

“Giner” is the workshop’s designation for this model; no historical model can be documented, so we read nothing into the name. The cross itself remains what it is for Christians: a sign of faith and redemption, here in a finish that recalls old church furnishings.

The finish looks like an old original because the surface is finely cracked. This makes the Giner Crucifix suit furniture with a patina and rooms that already have their history. A good occasion is a parish jubilee, a milestone birthday or an honour.
