Description & details

The “Contemplative Corpus with Simple Cross” is a wooden crucifix in which Christ hangs on a slender, curved cross. The arms are spread wide, a cloth in a warm red and orange tone lies around the hips, and the INRI sign sits at the top.

The addition “simple” refers to the cross: it does without ornament, and the figure stands at the centre. The crucifix recalls the death of Jesus on the cross and is seen by many believers as a sign of self-giving and redemption. The plain form works in modern as well as classical rooms.

  • Sizes: 15 cm, 20 cm, 30 cm, 40 cm, 60 cm
  • Finish: hand-painted (oil colours, gold leaf and silver leaf details, lacquer)
  • Wood: mainly lime wood, depending on size also maple or Swiss stone pine, from the Val Gardena valley

For Communion or Confirmation, the plain crucifix is a gift that young people can take into their room. It also suits clearing a home within the family, which needs a keepsake – or you take it for your own hallway.

This crucifix is made in Val Gardena, carved by hand, piece by piece. Between order and delivery there are approx. 3–4 weeks; shipping is insured and costs €6.90 for Germany and Austria. After receipt you have 14 days for the statutory right of withdrawal.
