This Marian necklace carries the Madonna and Child in miniature: the round pendant measures 2.2 cm and shows Mary with the Child Jesus. On the reverse is an engraving you can give to someone: the German inscription “Gott schütze dich” (“God protect you”).

The image of the Madonna and Child is one of the oldest Christian motifs. Mary holds her Son in her arms, and the viewer sees in it the Incarnation of God. Many people give this image when someone is expecting a child, is being baptised or is making a fresh start. The engraving is a blessing wish, not a promise.
