Guardian Angel Picture 12×17 cm – Classic Motif with Children & Stream

Two children are floating paper boats on a stream, and behind them stands an angel: this guardian angel picture in 12 × 17 cm shows a scene of carefree play. The children do not notice the one who watches over them – and that is exactly what makes the motif so familiar.

The idea behind it is an old one. Jesus says of children: “their angels in heaven always see the face of my Father in heaven” (Mt 18:10). Pictures like this are artistic interpretations of the belief in God's companionship, not accounts of events. You can read more in theencyclopaedia article on the guardian angel.
