Glass Cross 21×14 cm, Blue with Golden Fish Symbol – Blessed

The fish as a sign

Long before the cross became the public sign of Christians, they recognised one another by a simple fish. The Greek letters of the word for fish stand as initials for “Jesus Christ, Son of God, Saviour”. This glass cross unites both signs: the cross at the centre, the golden fish as a reminder of the early Church. The blue of the glass gives it a sense of calm. As a gift for a christening, First Holy Communion or Confirmation, it can remind a child or godchild every day of the blessing and of their bond with the faith.

Blue crystal glass, made by hand

The cross is made by hand in Germany from crystal glass. The blue glass surface is evenly polished, and the fish symbol sits on it in gold. At 21 × 14 cm and about 1 cm thick, it has a noticeable but unobtrusive size, and at 200 g it feels substantial. An integrated hanging ring makes wall mounting simple and secure. As with all glasswork, careful handling is important; indoors it keeps its clear, glossy surface for years.
