In the Catholic tradition St Florian is venerated as patron saint of firefighters. His name stands for courage and helpfulness in serving others. The medallion of this necklace carries the German inscription “ST FLORIAN BITTE FÜR UNS” (“St Florian, pray for us”) and reminds you of the support that many believers see in him. For firefighters it is a sign of solidarity and of faith in daily life and on call-outs; for family and friends it is a meaningful gift that expresses appreciation.
According to the manufacturer, the medallion is made of metal (tin), measures 1.6 × 1.6 cm and has a polished, shiny surface; the eyelet and jump ring are neatly finished. The chain is stainless steel and closes with a spring ring. The origin is given as France, and the manufacturer speaks of French craftsmanship. Before dispatch a Catholic priest blesses the necklace in the LUNEXUS warehouse, and a business-card-sized certificate with the date of the blessing is enclosed.
