Description & details

Mary, Joseph and the Child Jesus in the manger: this olive wood pendant tells the Christmas story in just a few centimetres. It is made by hand in Bethlehem and hangs on a gold-coloured ribbon – on the Christmas tree, in the window or as a pendant on a gift.

The Holy Family is one of the most familiar motifs of the faith. The Gospels of Luke and Matthew tell of the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem – exactly where the wood for this pendant comes from. Joseph, the foster father of Jesus, is regarded as patron saint of families and fathers; his solemnity is 19 March. You can find out more about him in theLexicon of saints entry on St Joseph.
