Description & details

Joseph, Mary and the Child in a bell of olive wood: this pendant gathers the Holy Family into a shape that recalls Christmas bells. At approx. 9.0 × 7.0 cm it hangs on two ribbons in gold and silver and bears the star of Bethlehem.

According to the New Testament, Joseph was a carpenter in Nazareth and, as the foster father of Jesus, is one of the most important saints; his solemnity is 19 March. Mary and Jesus stand with him for the image of a family that bears responsibility for one another. Thesaints' encyclopaedia tells more about Joseph. The wood comes from Bethlehem, the place of the birth.
