Description & details

An angel with a lantern over a sleeping child – here as a wooden plaque in landscape format, 13.5 × 8.5 cm. If you like the lantern motif but do not want to hang a large picture, this is the compact version.

In the picture the light of the lantern stands for keeping watch. While the child sleeps, the angel keeps watch. According to the encyclopaedia, the classic guardian angel picture shows either the bridge over the abyss or a sleeping child who is being watched over. A guardian angel is not a saint but a creature of God whom one may ask for help.

  • Dimensions: approx. 13.5 × 8.5 cm, approx. 150 g
  • Material: Solid wood, UV direct print, matt varnish
  • Hanging: hole on the back, mounting kit enclosed
  • Origin: Germany

It is often given for a birth or christening, for instance together with a card, or for the birthday of a child who needs a little light at night. It is also a quiet gift for First Holy Communion or after recovering from an illness.

A Catholic priest blesses the lantern plaque in our warehouse, and the enclosed card shows the date. Amazon's logistics network delivers free within Germany and for €5.90 to Austria and France; you can return it within 30 days.
