The crucifix recalls Christ on the cross and has been the central sign of the Christian faith for centuries. This example shows a finely shaped corpus with an INRI plaque on light beech wood. The inset metal strips emphasise the shape of the cross and give it a restrained shine. It has its place above the bed, in the family room or in the prayer corner. As a gift for a christening, First Holy Communion or Confirmation, it becomes a sign from godparents and grandparents that can accompany a child for a long time.
The crucifix is made of untreated beech wood with visible grain. The metal corpus has an antique bronze look, the strips in the wood a silver-chrome look. At 28 × 14 cm and around 160 g it is handy and, thanks to the metal hanger, can be fixed to a nail. According to the product information, it is handmade. Before dispatch it is blessed by a Catholic priest, and a business-card-sized certificate showing the date of the blessing is enclosed.
