A child folds their hands, the rosary between their fingers: this heart-shaped picture in 14 × 15.5 cm belongs to the series of guardian angel pictures and puts prayer itself at the centre.

The rosary is a prayer that accompanies children early on, often first as a chain in a grandmother's hand. The picture connects it with the thought of the guardian angel, whom many children already get to know in their evening prayer. According to Catholic teaching, an angel accompanies every person from the beginning of life; guardian angel pictures have therefore traditionally hung above the child's bed.
