The crucifix after Martin Zürn carries the name of a Baroque sculptor in its title. It means a figure of Christ on the cross, hand-carved in Val Gardena, for the wall in a living space, a chapel or a sickroom.
Martin Zürn came from a family of sculptors and worked mainly in Bavaria and Upper Austria. He was born between 1585 and 1590 in Waldsee and died after 1665 in Braunau am Inn. His works include a crucifix in Eggelsberg. Which crucifix served as the model for this figure cannot be documented; the name points to the Baroque school.
- Sizes: 15 cm, 20 cm, 30 cm, 60 cm
- Finish: Stained (stain of water and wax in a medium wood tone, slightly glossy)
- Wood: wood from the Gardena Valley – mainly lime wood, depending on size also maple or Swiss stone pine
Because the tone is warm and calm, the Zürn crucifix hangs well above a bed, by a bedroom door or in the corner of the house. It is a fitting gift for a housewarming, for a godchild's christening, or in memory of a loved one.
