Christ is carved with a narrow, serious expression, the arms rest on the crossbeam, and the INRI sign sits above. A white cloth drapes around the hips.

As with the other Tyrolean crucifixes, the name is a designation by the workshop; there is no documented historical model. In return, the form is familiar and plain. The crucifix points to Jesus' death on the cross and reminds believers of redemption.

Height: 13 cm

Finish: hand-painted – painted with oil colours, decorated with gold leaf and silver leaf details

Wood: wood from the Val Gardena valley – mainly lime wood, depending on size also maple or Swiss stone pine

Precisely because it is so small, it suits places where there is no room for a large cross: a sickroom or a desk. A mother can give it to her child for First Holy Communion, a godfather for Confirmation.

The crucifix is made in Val Gardena, hand-carved and painted. This simple cross arrives with you after approx. 3–4 weeks, insured and straight from South Tyrol; delivery countries are Germany and Austria, and the cost is €6.90.
