He is regarded as the father of Western monasticism and has been patron saint of Europe since 1964; his feast day is 11 July. The St Benedict medal traditionally bears on its reverse a cross with the initial letters of Latin words of blessing such as “Crux sacra sit mihi lux” – may the holy cross be my light. Many ask Benedict for his intercession in danger.

Size: Ø 3 cm, approx. 26 g

Finish: metal, silver-coloured relief with a gold-coloured rim

Fastening: magnet or adhesive strip on the back

Origin: made in Italy

Contents: medal, magnet and adhesive strip, velvet pouch, certificate of blessing

In its velvet pouch the medal makes a good gift for passing the driving test, for a first car of one's own, or for those who drive a lot.
