kreuze-ohne-corpus-kreuz-im-sturm-8527
Cross in the Storm – Hand-Carved Wooden Cross from South Tyrol

The “Kreuz im Sturm” (Cross in the Storm) is a wooden cross without a corpus, its surface looking as if shaped by the wind. Long, diagonal cuts run through the upright and the arms, and the edges are restless and jagged. The shape of the cross nevertheless remains clearly recognisable.

The name comes from the workshop, and we do not interpret it. In itself the cross remains a sign of faith, and in turbulent times something that stands firm. The hand-painted finish in warm, metallic-looking tones emphasises the relief.

Sizes: 20 cm, 30 cm, 40 cm, 60 cm

Finish: hand-painted – painted with oil colours, details in gold leaf and silver leaf, fixed with lacquer

Wood: Val Gardena wood, mainly lime wood, depending on size also maple or Swiss stone pine

This cross suits people who have had a turbulent year behind them, as a gift for recovery or a new beginning.
