The ends of the cross are shaped like clover leaves; a golden nimbus hovers above the head of the figure, and above it the sign with INRI. Christ wears a loincloth with a belt.

“Romanesque” names the style that the depiction is based on. Romanesque crucifixes mostly show Christ as the living, triumphant victor over death, upright on the cross. Only with the Gothic period does the suffering Christ become usual, and the three-nail type replaces the four-nail type.

Sizes: 40 cm, 60 cm

Finishes: hand-painted (oil colours, gold leaf and silver leaf details) or antique genuine gold (craquelé surface, looks like an old original)

Wood: mainly lime wood, depending on size also maple or Swiss stone pine, from the Val Gardena valley

For a church or chapel with old furnishings, this crucifix is a fitting addition, as it is for a house with dark wood.
